Believin’ I could fly,
Instead grabbin’ a mic
Spittin’ rhymes askin’ why,
Sometimes life’s hard

Reflectin’ prayin to God
As I look to the sky,
Tryna survive the d’evils

Causin’ me feel feeble,

Havin’ cultures embrace,
But when I can’t ignore trauma,

Cuz you lack empathy,

I’m tired of ppl mistakin’,
My passion for anger,
When son just chasin’,
His dreams with vigorous clangor,
Always judgin my poetry,
In a negative manner,
Not knowin’, many nights I awoke shakin,
Prayin’ for answers,
Wonderin’ why cops threatened,
To kill me in front of my moms,
When we were victims yet and
I couldn’t remain calm,
So he grabbed the weapon,
Tellin’ me to shut the hell up,
While ppl watchin, not tryna step in,
As it developed,
Blamin’ my moms for an accident,
She didn’t cause,
So I look in bafflement,
Screamin’ oh my God,
Witnesses saw everythin’
Actin’ like they paused,
Ignoring how poorly we were treated
By men of the law,
When they merely didn’t care,
If my dream died,
And I know life isn’t fair,
So imma stay on the grind,
Always workin’ twice as hard,
Which is part of my plan,
Cuz I swear my dreams,
Manifest in front of me man,

When struggle gives you pain
It leads to your blessings,
When life gives you rain
Love the sun’s imperfections,
When things start to change
Be thankful to the heavens,
Cuz I know it’s hard to maintain
While you stressin,
When pops said always to,
Speak your dreams into existence,
Knowin’ in due,
Time you’ll get it with consistent persistence,
So you gotta shoot ya shot,
Without any fear,
Creatin black thoughts,
With roots overcomin pain and tears,
So don’t let ya dreams,
Pass you by like The Pharcyde,
Cuz you’re runnin from these daydreams,
in ya mind,
Havin’ you settle for less when ya dreams,
Are confined,
Not usin supreme,
Talent God gave you to shine,
So why you don’t believe you can,
do some great things,
When you put ya mind to it,
Achievin anythin,
Cuz you can’t dream forever,
